Power Stations

Rapac Energy is one of the leading private energy producers in Israel. The company holds stakes in several electricity generation assets, including conventional power plants that generate electricity using natural gas technology.

The company holds interest in two power plants, MRC Alon Tavor and Reindeer, and is actively advancing initiation and development of additional power plants, alongside the expansion of its existing facilities, in light of the growing demand for electricity and the evolving needs of Israel’s energy market.

MRC Alon Tavor

The Israeli Government resolution regarding a reform in the electricity sector determined that Alon Tavor power plant would be sold to a private electricity producer. In July 2019, MRC won the tender for the purchase of the Alon Tavor power plant, and in December 2019, ownership of the plant was transferred to MRC, and the company was granted generation licenses.

Upon the acquisition of Alon Tavor power plant, the site operated two diesel turbines using open-cycle technology, each with a capacity of 110 MW, as well as a combined-cycle unit that included a natural gas-based turbine with a capacity of 363 MW.

As part of the tender process, MRC was granted the right to establish additional open-cycle (Peaker) units at the site, with total capacity of 230 MW. The construction of these additional units has been completed, and they were granted generation licenses and began commercial operation in October 2025.

In addition, under the power plant acquisition agreement, MRC was granted the right to construct an additional combined-cycle power plant on land adjacent to the MRC site. This plant is planned to use H-Class technology, based on some of the most advanced natural gas turbines in the market, with an efficiency of over 60%. This unit is currently in the development stages.

Rapac Energy Ltd. holds 16.67% of the MRC group.

Reindeer

The Reindeer power plant, located within the jurisdiction of the South Sharon Regional Council, is intended to become one of the main energy sources for central Israel and the Tel Aviv metropolitan area. The plant’s central location provides a significant advantage in terms of electricity transmission capability and grid connectivity. The plant’s expected installed capacity is approximately 900 MW.

The plant will operate using combined-cycle technology based on natural gas and will be equipped with some of the most advanced generation turbines available on the market.

The zoning plan for the power plant (National Infrastructure Plan (NIP) No. 91), has received final governmental approval in August 2025. The plant is currently in the permitting stage and is expected to commence construction within the coming year.

Rapac Energy Ltd. holds a 24.99% stake in Raindeer Energy Ltd., the company initiating and promoting the project.
